that, my friends, is taho. it is one of the best things in the world and lately I've been eating at least two bowls of it a day. I think about taho while I'm dancing and it gives me motivation to work hard and then go home so that I can eat some more of it. I'm telling you, taho is just one of the many delicious things that ? come with the filipino world of food, and there are many. and you know what??I haven't been really able to appreciate filipino food until lately. I find myself craving it almost all of the time, and it might be because we rarely ever eat it at home. ?however, my mother made a LOT of palabok the other night (my favorite, mind you) and today I ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner- yum! and taho was my reward for dancing all day. also! my mother also made these big, amazing lumpias that I've also been sneaking into my meals. it's times like these where I can sit down and think to myself- hey, being filipina ain't so bad at all! some other favorites of mine? sago, calamansi juice, adobo with rice, sinigang with rice, anything ube, filipino spaghetti (my mom's filipino spaghetti is way better than american- to me at least), halo-halo, maiz con hielo, filipino barbecue?and so much more. I realize that most of my favorite kinds of filipino foods fall into either the dessert or drink section, but I only speak truth! we provide some of the best desserts and drinks ever. ;) wow, I'm usually the most non-filipino person ever (ask my friends). I don't speak or understand tagalog (except the basics, of course) and I never usually admit that I crave for the food, but after eating so much taho these days (I could go for more right NOW) I felt it was time to say how I really feel- filipino food is awesome, for reals.
oh, and thank you mother for being a?wonderful?cook as always... if you're reading this. :)
