iOS 6 Jailbreak: Redsn0w Updated To v0.9.15b1 With Cydia Included For A4-Based iPhone, iPod Touch

Apart from this, the updated Redsn0w 0.9.15b1 for both Windows and Mac also adds support for re-restoring and downgrading of select devices from iOS 6 to an older firmware and re-restoring from any iOS 5.x to any other (up, down or the same) iOS 5.x on all devices as long as the correct blobs are saved.

Below are the steps to use Redsn0w 0.9.15b1 to jailbreak iOS 6 tethered. But before going ahead with the process here are some points to keep in mind:

- This is a tethered jailbreak and is only for A4-based (or below) devices like the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the 4th-gen iPod touch.

- A5-based devices (iPhone 4S, iPad 2), A5X-based devices (iPad 3) and A6-based devices (iPhone 5) are not supported.

- Redsn0w 0.9.15b1 doesn?t require you to download and point the app to the iOS 6 IPSW for the jailbreak.

- Cydia is included as part of the release. No need to install it manually.

Follow the steps, explained below:

Step 1: Download Redsn0w 0.9.15b1.

(Mac / Windows)

Step 2: Download iOS 6 and update your A4 device to this latest version. You can find by instructions here.

Step 3: Run Redsn0w (run in administrator mode if using a PC). If you are on OS X Mountain Lion, start Redsn0w by ?Ctrl-Click? on the icon and then selecting ?Open? from the new menu.

Step 4: Now click on ?Jailbreak,? select ?Cydia? and put the device into DFU mode when Redsn0w prompts you to do so with the help of onscreen instructions. After the device is in DFU mode, Redsn0w will start the jailbreaking process using limera1n exploit.

Step 5: Once the process is done, select ?Autoboot this device when it connects in DFU mode? option to enter tethered mode. After some time, the device will reboot with the Cydia icon on the home screen.

Step 6: Since it?s a tethered iOS 6 jailbreak, you will have to boot the device in tethered mode every time it is turned off and on. You can do this using Redsn0w. Click on ?Extras? on the main screen and then click on ?Just Boot.? Follow the instructions on the screen and once you are done, the device will be rebooted into tethered jailbreak mode.
